Latin writing alphabets
It was adapted from the Etruscan alphabet during the 7th century BC. Some languages use the standard 26 letters, some use fewer, and others use more. Similarly, V doubles as [u] and [w], and so U was created to denote [u] while V stood for [v] only. The use of the letters I and V for both consonants and vowels proved inconvenient as the Latin alphabet was adapted to Germanic and Romance languages.

They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Such conventions were erratic for centuries. As you might have noticed, the classical Roman Latin alphabet only has what we called "upper case", or majuscule, letters.
